The 2013 MLB trade deadline is about to happen this week, but there have already been deals going down for the last few weeks that I think many people interested in the trade deadline would like to read about. The purpose of this page will be a comprehensive list form of trades as they go down and will include pre-deadline deals. If you want more intricate breakdowns of the minor leaguers in the deal then click the link. It will either link to a story I have written or a story I found the most informative. My breakdowns will focus on the minor leaguers because for the most part…if you’re here, you know what the team is getting on the major league side of the trade. If you’re a Rangers fan and reading about the trade deadline, you probably know that you got a slightly injury prone #2/#3 strikeout pitcher in the recent acquisition of SP Matt Garza that should slot in as #3 when all is said and done. But, you may not know what you gave up to get him. Only trades that I have deemed worthy will be included. So read on and find out what these minor leaguers in trades are all about.

With the trade deadline behind us, it was another quiet year for my favorite day of the baseball season. Teams are seemingly still working out the kinks of the trade deadline in relation to the new CBA and the new wild card slot. As teams get more comfortable with how much it takes to stay in contention in the final weeks we may see more teams becoming sellers at the deadline, but until then we have a new level of deadline to enjoy.
