Every team in basketball could use DeMarcus Cousins. The issue is that the Sacramento Kings know how valuable he is. They’re not going to sell low on him and now that Cousins is hitting his stride at 25 years old, the iron is very hot.
The tough to please center has extended his range to three-point land, though it isn’t much to worry about at just 30.8% shooting from deep. But, he’s one of the last true threats from all over the court as a big man and he shoots a healthy 74.2% from the charity stripe.
Once again, there isn’t a team that couldn’t use Cousins. However, the team with the most reported connections and the most assets is the Boston Celtics. They’re likely to match and raise anyone’s offer to Sacramento if he becomes truly available. The Chicago Bulls can’t offer the same type of package that Boston can. Same goes for the Wizards.
These are only three teams that could attempt to trade for Cousins, but if it happens, expect to see Deron Williams/Carmelo Anthony type value to be involved.
